Fire destroys top floor of Berea Flats (Povall Court) - Follow up
Slms,
Wrt the fire disaster at 66 Musgrave road, I was there earlier to assess and I want to thank the community and well wishers for their overwhelming support and contributions in the form of food, toiletries and clothing. Top floor 4 units were totally burnt and destroyed.
Family 1:
Husband, wife and 2 daughters aged 10 and 15
Family 2:
3 ladies
Family 3:
Husband, wife, 2 daughters aged 16 and 24
Family 4:
Husband, wife and 1 year old baby boy.
Hot meals for the families for today has been arranged.
There has been an overwhelming response with the groceries and clothing so I suggest we hold for now. We will advise further.
We await the landlord together with insurance company and municipality to give us some sort of indication wrt the temporary placement of these families.
Councilor Charmaine is on sight trying to assist and facilitate goods being dropped off.
